A/N: Yus, this a het fic. There seriously aren't enough. ;-; And words or phrases in
bold are english.
South Korea could be described with many adjectives of varying definitions but some would sum it up to simply beautiful. When one was in the city, perhaps they couldn't see what others saw: a place of history, a place of tradition, a growing, beautiful country. But of course, all she did was stare at pictures of her ancestry. Jeong Adria Bo-Bae sighed as she closed the family photo album/ scrapbook. Oh, how she longed to go back to her place of birth! However, her father's job in Virginia wouldn't allow it. For years she got every breath taking picture and history book she could on Korea, planning to move there one day for college. But presently she was twelve and she wouldn't be going anywhere for awhile. In another two years she would be attending high school and she dreaded it. Everyday in Virginia utterly sucked to her. She was miserable. she was rather antisocial and didn't have any friends her age. Even though it was only middle school, she could the thick superficial masks everyone wore. The parents, the teachers, the students. She was a loner and everyone thought she was just some loser nerd. She wasn't an emo, she just didn't feel comfortable being 'friends' with people who made her emotionally sick.
She struggled, studied and worked hard for her grades and that's all she ever did. Because of that, she skipped three grades and just for that, all the other students considered her to be some sort of smarty pants who deserved to be harrassed and picked on.
One day, when it was time for her to attend high school, she was told some wonderful news. "We're what?" She inquired.
"We're moving. All of us to South Korea, so you can go to high school there." Her mother responded, a beautiful smile gracing her well seasoned features.
Bae looked at her father who was reclining in his easy chair. He smirked and nodded in agreement. "We see how miserable you are, Bo-Bae. You have no friends and you've always wanted to go to South Korea. Well, it just so happens that I need to do some work there. I can't stay for long, I'll have to travel alot but most of my work will be based there now, so I figured that we should move there. We need a change of scenery anyways. But of course, you have to be okay with that."
Bae's jaw was just about hovering near the floor, her eyes wide and glittering. She then squealed and tackled her mother who was on the couch next to her, hugging her tightly, repeating "thank you" over and over. She then jumped up and did the same to her father, a bright smile never leaving her face.
Before too long, they were all packed up and ready to go. They found a new house in Seoul via her father's boss's help. They cleaned out the old house and sold it, put in the transfer papers, and boarded the plane. Once on the airplane, Bae couldn't stop fidgeting in her seat like she had had one too many cups of coffee. In fact, she was wide awake the entire flight there because she was too excited.
My God, Korea! I'm finally coming. "Now Bo-Bae, this is your first time in Seoul and your first time attending high school, "her mother spoke, stuffing school books into her daughter's bag. "I know you know Korean and all about being proper here but I still can't help but be worried for you. You could easily get lost. So I'm driving you to the high school and as soon as it's out, and I'll be there to pick you up."
Bae furrowed her brows and frowned, "Oma, it's high school. I don't need to be babysat."
"Yes, it is high school, all the more reason to drop you off and pick you up."

"Now, don't venture anywhere off the school grounds, okay?" Her mother instructed as they pulled up to the high school. Bae moved around uncomfortably in her uniform, gripping the strap of her messenger bag. She was extremely nervous. She was probably younger than all the other students because in South Korea high school typically started for seventeen year olds. She was only fourteen though her mature looks could easily fool anyone.
Her mother smiled and gave her daughter's shoulder a reassuring pat, "You'll be okay."
Bae smiled and gave a short nod before opening the door to the car and stepping out. Her braided pig tails shifted with the sudden incoming wind as she exited the vehicle. She peered up at the red bricked building and took a deep breath. She figured she might actually survive the day if she didn't talk to anyone. As her mother waved and drove off, Bae rummaged around in her messenger bag and pulled out a white scrap of paper. On it was the name of all her classes and the schedule. She wandered around the school grounds trying to find her Math class and eventually making it to the football (soccer) field. There were some students playing a game of it. All of them were boys and of course the girls were on the bleachers watching. Bae sighed, keeping her head down and continued walking along the path that led to the other side of the school.
"Hey! Watch out!" Someone yelled. It startled the young girl. She quickly looked up and saw a soccer flying towards her. Before Bae could do anything she was knocked in the head and sprawled out on the ground.
"Ah, Micky, I think you killed her."
A/N: I hope you like that! Lemme know if you want to see more. ^_^
